On Thanksgiving Eve local pizzerias double up their toppings for families who do not want to cook or clean the night before the traditional American meal.

“They know they are going to cook the next day so that don’t feel like doing anything in the kitchen so they all come out and have a good time,” said manager at Andolini’s in Tulsa, Travis Araiza.  “We try to prep out as much in advance so we don’t run around like chickens with are heads cut off during dinner service.”

They expect to go through 15 bins of cheese.  They usually only go through eight bins on a Wednesday night.  Each bin weighs 25 pounds.  That’s about 667 pizzas covered in cheese; however some of that cheese is used for pasta.  So it the real number of pizzas they expect to sell is about 500.

“Unless there is a line out the door I am not going to tell people they can’t eat,” said Araiza.
