Tulsa fire investigators are searching for fire starters who targeted a Midtown Subway.

Investigators released surveillance photos of a couple seen eating in the restaurant and then leaving shortly after a restroom was on fire.

On May 25, Tulsa firefighters were called to the Subway near 11th and South Delaware Place.

Surveillance photos show a man sitting on the counter talking to a woman.

Subway would not allow us to talk to employees but a witness told FOX23 News he served the couple and watched them eat and leave. Shortly after they left, he saw black smoke billowing from the bathroom and the door locked.

Investigators say video showed the couple in the restaurant for 30 minutes together.

"We don't ever believe they were in the bathroom at the same time," said Tulsa Fire Spokesperson Stan May.

The man seen walking in the restroom wore a T-shirt with "71" on the back and the woman walked out of the restroom.

"We can't tell if she is holding her arm or if she is carrying a purse," said May.

They do not know if the two worked together or alone in allegedly setting the fire.

"We really are not sure of what was going on there," said May.

However, they consider this dangerous and want them identified.

"There were employees and other customers inside putting them in danger," said May.

Fire investigators say they found restroom items torched such as the soap dispenser.
