SPRINGFIELD, Ore. (KMTR) -- Once you've taken down your Christmas tree, you'll find no shortage of groups willing to haul it away for a small fee.

The North Eugene High School Cheer Team is looking to buy new uniforms and attend competitions. They will be picking up trees December 28 and 29 and again on January 5 and 6, 2013. A suggested donation is $10 for a green tree and $15 for a flocked tree. Call 541 954-4289 or email for pick up information.

The South Eugene High School Boys' Lacrosse club is raising money to support low income students and to buy safety equipment. They're working December 29 and January 6, 2013. Rates are $10 for one tree and $15 for two. One flocked tree will cost $10. Sign up at for pick up.

Fifth graders at McCornack Elementary school are looking to earn money for a trip to Washington, DC. They're working every weekend in Eugene during the month of January. They're charging $10 per tree but cannot accept flocked trees. You can call 541 833-0180 or complete a form on the schools website at

The Thurston High School Swim team will use funds raised on January 5, 2013 to pay for new gear and scholarships. They will pick up a green tree for $7 or a flocked one for $12. Sign up by calling 541 510-4095.

In search of new equipment, Sheldon Babe Ruth will pick up trees January 6 and again on January 13, 2013. They're charging $5 per tree but cannot accept flocked trees. Call 541 515-0604 for more information.
Central Lutheran Church is looking to raise money for their youth ministry. They will be picking up trees on January 7 and January 12, 2013 for a suggested minimum donation of $12 per tree or $20 for a flocked tree. The church's number is 541 345-0395.

The Norkenzie Christian Church High School Mission team would like to pick up your tree either Saturday December 29 or January 2, 5 or 12, 2013.  They will be looking for a minimum donation of $5 for a green tree and $10 for a flocked tree. You can schedule a pickup by emailing

Between now and January 20, 2013, Boy Scout Troop 182 is picking up trees in Eugene, Springfield, Junction City, Harrisburg and Veneta. They're headed for summer camp and looking for a minimum donation of $8 each for green trees or $12 for a flocked tree. To schedule a pick up time, call 541 514-2987.

On the coast, the North Bend Fire Department will use money collected to help needy families and help fund other programs. All donations are welcome. They're picking up trees on December 29 and again on January 5, 2013. You can put them to work by calling 541 756-7757.
