Driver Shot In The Back By Passenger In Butler County

A 19-year-old is in the hospital after being shot in the back early Wednesday morning in Butler County.

Police tell Local 12 the shooting happened inside a car on Cardiff near Leeds in Fairfield Township. Investigators said 19 year old Robinson Hao Davalos was shot in the back by a man in the back seat around 2 a.m. Wednesday morning.

Fairfield Township Police say there were actually four people in the car at the time, and drug activity was happening in the car.  Officers say 22 year old Todd Armstron mishandled a gun that was being shown and it accidentally discharged, hitting Davalos.

Davalos was found down the street in a car in the Menard's parking lot on Princeton Road in Fairfield Township.
He was taken to University of Cincinnati Medical Center where he had surgery.  

Armstrong is now facing charges of felonious assault and obstructing official business.
