The mother of a missing Hockley County woman is working with non-profit organization "From a Teen's Eyes" to raise awareness about her daughter's disappearance.

Maegan Hembree, 30, was last seen at her home near Smyer on Feb. 26 before heading to a friend's home in Lubbock.

Hembree's mother, Robbie, said she knows someone has information on her daughters whereabouts.

"We still hold out hope that she'll come home," she said, "but we don't know. We don't know what has occurred so we're having to prepare for whatever."

Hockley County Sheriff's office announced just weeks after Maegan Hembree went missing, that her vehicle was found at an apartment in west Lubbock.

Hembree's mother said she knows her daughter wouldn't abandon her family.

"She would never leave her son." Hembree said, "Just the way it all happened, it was not anything expected or planned. There was no indication."

Hembree's mother said she continues to pray for Maegan's safe return, and urges the rest of the community to do the same.

"May 2 is the National Day of Prayer," Hembree said, "and so my request is that whatever teams are meeting, where ever they're meeting -- in the community, in schools or city  hall or churches -- that they put Maegan Hembree on their prayer requests.

Maegan Hembree is approximately 4'11", weighs approximately 120 lbs. and has tattoos on her left shoulder and lower left leg.

Anyone with information about Maegan Hembree's whereabouts is asked to call the family at 806-317-0202 or the Hockley County Sheriff's Department at 806-894-3126.
