MEMPHIS, TN (abc24.com) - A woman is recovering from critical injuries after she was intentionally run over by her ex-boyfriend in downtown Memphis early Saturday morning.

Police were called to the 500-block of Techno Lane near Madison Ave and Danny Thomas Blvd around 12:15 a.m. on Saturday, July 21. Officers found a 49-year-old female victim unresponsive; an ambulance transported her to The MED in critical condition.

Investigators say the victim and her boyfriend had been in an argument with the woman's ex-boyfriend, 59-year-old Lawrence Williams, when Williams reportedly drove up towards them and accelerated to jump the curb, hitting the woman. Williams then jumped out of his truck and was chased down by the victim's boyfriend.

Lawrence Williams was arrested and charged with two counts Attempted Second Degree Murder. He is currently being held on $500,000 bond at the Shelby County Jail.
