MEMPHIS, TN (localmemphis.com) - A high-profile Memphis defense lawyer and his girlfriend were busted for a domestic incident in the parking lot of a Target store.
Investigators said 70-year-old Coleman Garrett went to meet his girlfriend, 27-year-old Crystal Franklin, at the Target on Winchester last week.
A witness said when Garrett pulled up with another woman in his vehicle, Franklin got upset and started punching him.
Cops arrived and said they smelled booze on Garrett. They checked his car and found a bottle of vodka in the backseat.
Garrett is charged with DUI; Franklin is charged with domestic assault.
Garrett is known for representing high-profile clients like Clarence Mumford, the ringleader of the teacher test-taking scandal. He also represented Lorenzen Wright's wife.
