New Year's Eve was a busy night for officers across the city. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol and Tulsa Police Officers were out patrolling the streets looking for drunk drivers. Also undercover agents with Oklahoma Alcohol Beverage Law Enforcement commission were busy visiting bar and clubs.

OHP Lieutenant George Brown said it was a major success because there were no alcohol related crashes during their increased presence.

According to Tulsa County Jail records, 30 people were arrested for alcohol related incidents from 5 pm Monday night until 5:30 am Tuesday morning.

Thirteen people were arrested for public intoxication, fourteen for driving under the influence, one for having an open container and one more for public intoxication and disturbing the peace.

Also, Undercover agents with ABLE issued two citations at bars to employees.

Able agent Eric Smoot said, "we are not out to get the clubs, which some people believe, we are out to keep everyone safe."

Agents set up an undercover sting and sent a minor inside 14 bars, only 1 bar served the minor. Also at one South Tulsa bar an employee was issued a citation for drinking on the  job. If found guilty, that's a fine of $500 dollars.
