Police investigating hit and run accident at Wal Mart

Police are investigating a hit and run accident in south Tulsa that happened just before 10 o'clock on Thursday night.

Officers said a man was walking out of a Walmart near 81st and Lewis when he got hit by a man driving a black car. The driver lost control and hit the side of the store before running off. 

Officers said the victim, whose in his 60s, landed on top of a parked SUV. He was able to talk to police before EMSA took him to the hospital. Officers said he has severe injuries to his head and some broken bones, but is expected to survive. 

A woman passenger was also in the vehicle with the man. She was taken to the hospital but officers say isn't co-operating with them. Traffic unit investigators are handling the investigation as police search for the driver.
