An early morning shooting Thursday in East Chattanooga sent a man to Erlanger in fair condition with wounds to the head and back.
Robert Douglas told investigators he was walking to his girlfriend's house on Hardy Street when two men shot him.
As he ran to the back of the residence, he was shot a second time.
Douglas said he did not know who shot him and police do not yet have a suspect description.
Residents reported seeing two men running in the area with guns.
Police recovered an SKS assault rifle near the scene.
