Marti Rutherford tells New 12 Thursday she's got unfinished business on the City Council.
Rutherford stepped down as District 6 council member last October after questions about her residency came up.
She now says she's been living in an apartment at 405 South Sweetbriar Avenue for more than a year, but she still owns the house on Hemphill.
Rutherford already picked up qualifying papers to run in the city election.
She says, "I personally do not think I did any damage, and you can almost look at it as a positive. The City Council was an unknown entity until about a year ago, and now I think at least most people in the public know there is such an institution."
Rutherford will be challenging her replacement Carol Berz in the March election.

Is is beyond belief that Marti Rutherford is running for City Council again. To show how out of touch she really is, here is a quote from her, she says, "I personally do not think I did any damage, and you can almost look at it as a positive. The City Council was an unknown entity until about a year ago, and now I think at least most people in the public know there is such an institution."

No damage? Anyone knows the damage done, Marti, except you. You almost caused a court battle the taxpayers would have had to pay for. You took benefits you were not entitled to, and tried to take more. You LIED to the public all along. Politicians who lie do not belong in office. They deserve to be drummed out and should pay for their crimes. Yes, crimes, lying while in office and taking a position you are not entitled to hold are crimes. We don't know all the other crimes you may have commited while on the City payroll, but if you commited one, and refused to admit you did anything wrong, you probably commited others.

Stay home, do not run again for City Council.
