A new report released today shows high levels of arsenic and other toxins in the river water after the coal ash spill in Roane County.
TVA says no drinking water standards were violated, but tests done by the nonpartisan, nonprofit group Environmental Integrity Project say otherwise.
Activists say their preliminary results show levels dangerous to both human and aquatic life.
Jeff Stant with the group says it's shocking to find results like these weeks later and miles down river.
He says, "You shouldn't ever find an exceedance of an acute water quality standard out in a big river, but you should just never find that and when you're finding it for something like arsenic or copper that's a very horrible result."

DIRTY COALASH
All these people who say that there is no problem with the coal ash spill into the river system should take a glass of water from the river and drink it.They wouldn't dare of course. 21 poisonous chemicals 9 of those are cancerous this is what is dug out of the ground and then burnt and then stored in coal ash ponds so how these people can say that there is no problem is totally beyond me.These people will lie to save there own skin at the cost of the surrounding communitys.Coal is the dirtiest fuel on the planet it is a natural poison resource.Till these poison barons wake up and embrace clean fuel the world will suffer from the effects of rapid climate change.Solar wind wave hot rocks will do the job of coal in a clean and environmentally way for a sustainable tommorow and a future we can all be proud of.CLEAN COAL IS BURRIED NOT BURNT...
