Don't be surprised to find writer and political activist June Griffin's name on the ballot for Tennessee Governor next year.
The Dayton woman plans to announce her candidacy as an independent today at the national prohibition committee meeting in Memphis.
Griffin has come under fire in the past for an article in the "People News of Bradley County" where she criticized african american music and Martin Luther King, Junior -- and for a 2006 incident involving a Mexican shop keeper in Dayton.
I met this lady last night.
I met this lady last night. When you see her, "political candidate" is not the image that comes to mind. But, when you listen to what she has to say, you will know she is heaven sent. Educate yourself about the candidates this election, including this one. You may find yourself surprisingly impressed.
Let's hope not!

Political Activist June Griffin Get on Board ! ! !
Good Cristian woman and comes from a fine southern family from talking to people here. Takes a lot to get involved instead of sitting in the cheap seats and watching it all happen and then whining about it later when the same good ole boys get elected. I know that politicians are bought and sold daily, I don't get the impression this candidate is for sale.
If I was a betting man I would say this candidate speaks with an accent but does not think with one. I understand that there was an encounter with a mexican shop owner at one time: regarding a mexican flag? Perhaps he was confused about where they are living? And with regards to her saying something about the shop owner not speaking english. Most educated people that would visit another country, would try to learn a few of there words. Thankfully we don't live in a country like mexico where we keep our people ignorant and do not promote education.
She is saying and doing what a few of us wish we would say and could do. Bob Cook
