When it all boils down the whole reason pot has the status it has because it is a non-taxed product. That's right. Everything is considered a product in the business world and the government is a business as much as McDonald's is one. They have found there is a very difficult way to tax it. So there you go. Thats the truth. Trust me.

What an outrage! SOMEONE WAS GROWING POT... they must be using the money from these 24 plants to fund their multimillion dollar crime rings...

D. Brandon Tavalin was a close friend of mine, I am a pot dealer and had exclusive rights to his product which i sold from home in the Chattanooga area. I had a carefully selected customer base and here, for your pleasure are the people who buy pot.

OF 13 customers whom i dealt with on a weekly basis 12 of them were UTC students, the 13th was an extreme sports athlete sponsored by the likes of The North Face among others.

Who does the government think it is fooling? My neighbors collect food stamps and welfare from the government, and for 20 dollars worth of Whiskey they will buy you 30 dollars worth of groceries with their government cards. 2 years ago I had neighbors in my duplex cooking meth. After numerous attempts to get government intervention and a "investigation" my wife and I were forced to break our lease and lose our deposit and 2 months rent in order to protect our safety while the Meth Manufacturing continued to go on.

Instead of dealing with that, the government does monthlong investigations of people growing just enough pot to support a small and upstanding clientele. My former customers have told me that what sucks the most about our operation getting busted is that now they have to get their medicine at local gas stations and area fast food restaurants, waiting in the parking lot to meet "A GUY" that they don't know, to buy a plant that they can not verify the quality or cleanliness of (Tavalin used only organic fertilizers) and more often then not find themselves getting their pants pulled down over prices by dealers who only sale pot in order to fund their crack habits.

If they get caught with even a small personal bag or a device for smoking not only do they go to jail, they lose any chance at government funding for college. NORML tells us that for every student who drops out of school because of a mariuana problem over 100 drop out because they got busted and the government takes away their loans and grants.

It makes sense in a bizarro way, the biggest threat to a George Bush government is knowledge... what a great plan. If we take all of our college students out of the classroom and put them on the street we can continue to make this country a land of uneducated idiots, allowing our government to continue to act as it pleases without the threat of a knowledgeable middle class standing up for their rights and personal liberties.

How smart do you have to be to put a seed in some dirt. You never hear of anyone getting busted for growing corn for corn whiskey. This plant has been around since the beginning of time. It grows weather you want it to or not. It has many uses, some for medical and some for lesuire, i cant even tell you how many uses this plant has. We need to get striaght to the source and bring down every god wrighten book that talks about this plant being grown for healing uses.

They HAD to tack on the paraphernalia charge as if this mans life wasnt ruined enough already. I could not even imagine an officer busting through my door thinking he is gonna change the world by killing 24 plants, which im sure will go right back out on the streets and someones pocket will get fat.
How do you even manufacture a plant. They should outlaw air conditioners, carbon-dioxide, lights and miracle grow too. How does someone get in trouble for making a plant grow faster. We need to bring down all the people with sprinkler systems in their yard, it's a gateway growing method.
Not many people realize that hops, a plant grown for preserving beer, altering flavors and is in every beer we drink, is also in the cannibus family.
If you wanna be against the plant thats fine but in someones personal home is a different story.
Sodomy is illegal in some states including some of the states touching the Tennessee line but i have never once heard of one single person being arrested for performing the act with someone of the legal age in their home.
If your gonna punish people for smoking a plant, tabbaco and sage is a plant, then atleast get the people who are out being stupid with it just as you would the people with alcohol. You can legally produce so much "moonshine" a year. You can also grow so many tabbaco plants a year without a license, wich you have to pay for. Why is this plant any different?
I cant tell you how many times i have been out and drank with officers and see them drive off knowing they are past the legal limit and this man was sitting at home minding his own business.
Forget about the man who is gearing up to take another mans property that was earned with hard labor. Lets forget about the companies that spill waste into the rivers and land our famillies have to live with. No need to worry about the murders and rape charges that never seem to have anything done about them. We need to get those people that are smoking that GOD forbidden marijuana. Thats where the real crime is.... or money?

I would say a fantasy world is not the free world in which I live, but a world in which another man (or woman) decides what you can, or cant do even if it hurts no one other than yourself!

Dont get me wrong. I'm not for anyone killing anybody. I do believe that if someone comes busting into your house without permission, you should have the right to defend yourself, and your property if you werent doing anything to hurt anyone else! If I busted into another mans house I would expect to get shot, therefore I dont. Plus I dont think taking what belongs to another is right. But our government has a different oppinion, and can legally do that also!

When it all boils down to it, this is all about paying taxes. Thats the exact same thing that led to The American Revolution! (not chevrolet) No Taxation Without Representation! but our 16th amendment to our constitution which was supposedly ratified Feb 3, 1913 states: “ The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration.

So now we are here where we are today!

When all is said and done poor American taxpayers end up shelving out almost half of what they earn each year in taxes. This includes police officers who are just doing the job they are told to do. Try this for a year and do the math: Figure our what you earn in a year, and save all your reciepts for anything, and everything you buy, sell, or pay taxes on. What percentage of your earnings does that equal? What percentage of slave are you exactly? How many of you readers out there make too much money? I really want to know! Last time I checked it was still a democracy. Even if our last two elections prove otherwise.

Furthermore I say police officers and our military should be paid way more than they make, and be given rewards based on how much they actually helped the community, and not based on how many tickets they write, or revenue they bring in. I'm sure it would cut down on the number of crooked cops we have. If anyone wants to argue about crooked cops, then explain Billy Long to me and everyone else please? I think anyone who serves to protect our country should get 100% FREE HEALTHCARE FOR LIFE! not only for them, but their families also. Not at a doctor the Government says they can go to, but to any one the individual wants to see!

Throughout history there have been individuals that have wanted to control anything someone else does, and get a portion of everything they make.

This is America, we're not supposed to be that way. Freedom seems like a no brainer. Dont mess with me, and I wont mess with you. If I do something to someone else thats a different story. The reason crime statisics are so high, is because everything is so illegal! that gives our government more justification to enforce, and seriously eats away our liberties.

If you seriously think I live in a fantasy world, and want our liberties to be controled then go live in China. I hear they have a program for folks like you!

We are heading into a police state and only you can stop it! In NAZI Germany you had to present your proof of ID when approached by authorities. PAPERS!!! PAPERS!!! Sounds familier huh?

I hear there are seed companies (not marijuana) that lease seeds to farmers. I also hear that the seed companies want to make seeds which produce crops that do not produce seeds. If this gets out of hand, we could all starve to death. Besides we should all be able to grow, and raise our own foods, and medicines. No one should be able to take that away!

We need a DEFINATE re-examination of our laws, and we need to keep money out of governments hands at all cost. We have been sold out to the almighty dollar! High Treason has been committed!!!

Legalize it. Take away the gangs ability to make money. The law forces hard working Americans to deal with dangerous people & there is no telling what your buying when you do. People will never stop using drugs & thousands of law enforcement & "criminals" will continue to die all because you want to tell me how to live my life. Smoking marijuana is a victimless crime. When you kick a man's door in that opens a whole other can of worms.
It's legal to kill an unborn child but a man can't smoke a little grass. You get a harsher penalty for weed than a DUI. Which one is more likely to kill some one?

I'd much rather see the Chattanooga area law enforcement doing something about the shootings and other GANG violence and activities. I am a former drug user. I have also been clean and sober for several years now. I worked a stint at CADAS... Guess how many folks came in with a "pot" problem... I can't remember any. Now guess how many came in with meth/crack/coke/pill/alcohol problems... I'd say it was in the high 90 percentile. Thank GOD I have seen a number of them stay clean and a few even be the first to graduate Hamilton County's Recovery Court. I left the job after the 3rd death of former patients... Gets hard to take after a while. Hard drugs (this includes ALCOHOL) are KILLING people. I am so thankful that there are these recovery courts now where people like me can get help and learn how to live a new life. There is no particular point, just a short rant..

I sure am glad the police, and our local, state, and federal governments are getting these non violent offenders off the streets, and throwing them into our already overcrowded prison system!

Good thing theres no real criminals such as, gang bangers, theives, crack/meth/prescription drug dealers (including doctors that get kickbacks for handing this stuff out like candy), wife beaters, child molesters, animal abusers, or violent people to arrest!

The criminals to deal with in 2008 are evidently hippies, protesters, tree huggers, enviromentalist, and pot smokers.

I'm sure it was exciting busting a fellers door down on his private property with a bunch of bushes not even ready for harvest.

I know that marijuana is illegal, but so was the manufacture, transportation, and sale of booze (alcohol) from January 29th 1920 - December 5th 1933 which may have had something to do with Henry Ford's notion of running automobiles on alcohol so people could distill their own fuel. Keep in mind this was right around the same time as John D Rockefeller's Standard Oil Company was busted up for cornering the market! You can set your car up to run on alcohol today, and distill your own alcohol for fuel for $1 a gallon! but you have to get a permit, and you have to mix regular gasoline with it to be legal! Also your engine will last longer (up to a million miles in some test engines) and you will emit almost no polluting emissions due to the thorough combustion of alcohol as fuel, and no carbon deposits. Look it up!

So heres the question. is it alcohol? Or marijuana that makes people more violent? Which one does more damage to your brain, and organs? Which one is more addictive? If people can be trusted to consume alcohol, why can they not be trusted to smoke marijuana?

I am so tired of the notion of living in "The Free Land" where you have to get a permit to do anything that you have the God given right to do! If you dont have the money to get a permit, does that mean you dont get to live in "The Free Land"? Just those with enough money get to live in "The Free Land"?

Long live America! the land in which our ancestors fought, lived, and died in to keep free. Sucks that you cant get a permit for freedom.
