PTA Council Talks To Legislators
PTA members get a chance to talk directly to legislators.
The Hamilton County Council of PTA's held it's annual legislative forum. The legislative panel included Andy Berke, Bo Watson, Jim Cobb, Richard Floyd, and Joann Favors. They addressed questions about the states budget shortfall. The PTA council president say their biggest challenge is getting more parents involved. They hold several membership drives throughout the year.
Leeann Hammer, PTA Council President, "We're doing great this year we've had good turn-in, most of our schools have been represented this year so we're very proud of that, we work hard it takes all of our PTA presidents and all of our schools to make that happen."
Legislators say school districts must prioritize to deal with record budget shortfalls.
