This year, Groove 93 and Power 94 hosted the hour long tour that included the Chattanooga African-American Museum, the former site of the Martin Hotel and the city's first Black medical facility, Walden Hospital. Tour guides included State Representative Joanne Favors and former NAACP president Eddie Holmes. "The young people can see how we can accomplish whatever we set out to accomplish," Favors said. "Looking at Walden hospital, the example that's coming from them..how instrumental they were to providing access to quality medicine for our people during that time," Holmes added. To win bus tour tickets for next Saturday, Feb. 28, listen to Groove 93.
Winners of a radio contest toured black historical sites around downtown Chattanooga and the Southside Saturday afternoon.
