Red Cross Honors Hometown Heroes

     The American Red Cross named their hometown heroes of the year today for Chattanooga.
     Tennessee Titans head coach Jeff Fisher was the featured speaker at the luncheon.
     Awards were given for Good Samaritan youth, Good Samaritan Adult, First Responder and Red Cross Volunteer.
     Dot Garrett won Volunteer of the year.
     She has been volunteering at the Erlanger information desk for more than 50 years.
     She does everything from taking juice to patients to writing letters for them.

Dot Garrett Red Cross Volunteer awardee:

"It gives me great pleasure to be able to tell them which way they go and which right turn and left turn, and the folks are so appreciative."

"If people would just think for a minute that a couple dollars donated to the Red Cross would help tremendously in the lives of people and that's what it's all about."

     The coach also autographed a football that was auctioned off for 1,000 dollars for the Red Cross.
