Sen. Lamar Alexander Tours Enterprise South
Tennessee Senator Lamar Alexander gets his first look at the future Volkswagen site. He met with Mayors Ron Littlefield and Claude Ramsey on Thursday for a brief tour of Enterprise South.
The senator calls auto assembly plants a jobs magnet like no other. Alexander cites how Saturn and Nissan transformed their surrounding area.
Sen. Lamar Alexander, (R) TN, "It drives up the prices of land and creates new opportunities for home building, it attracts new businesses who want to be close to the assembly plant, it says to white collar people and other places who are looking for an office location, Chattanooga is an attractive place."
Alexander predicts Tennessee will one day become the nation's number one auto manufacturing state.
