CHICAGO (AP) — A dozen members of the Willis family are making a musical name for themselves on a network television show.

The 12 grandchildren of the Rev. Duane "Scott" Willis and Janet Willis have appeared on "America's Got Talented." The Willis' family was at the center of Illinois politics nearly 20 years ago when six of the couple's children were killed in a van crash. The accident helped start the investigation into then-Gov. George Ryan, who was convicted of corruption.

Now the Tennessee-based young members of "The Willis Clan" are earning a musical reputation. They are the children of Toby Willis, whose siblings died in the 1994 crash.

The Chicago Sun-Times reports ( ) 19-year-old Jennifer Willis has written a song in memory of her family members who died called "Road to Watertown."
