This weekend marks the 149th anniversary of the Civil War battles for Chattanooga.

That means three days full of hands-on history lessons. The group went over the river and through the woods to Missionary Ridge. It was all a part of a 2-hour car caravan tour. The park historian says it's important for people to know about the major attack along Missionary Ridge. Jim Ogden, Park historian said, "The campaign for Chattanooga was one of the most important in deciding the outcome of our nation's tragic and transformative Civil War, and we hope folks do take some time to learn about what went on here and how it shaped our county's history."

There will be more tours Sunday starting at 11:30 am at the Bragg Reservation on Missionary Ridge.
