It's a shame we can have any real reporters. They just cannot get facts correct, anymore. First off, the Emancipation Proclamation didn't free anybody. It allowed Union troops to draft slaves in the South to use in the army, usually for cooking and menial duties, and was just a political maneuver to keep Great Britain out of the war. Slavery was ended by passage of the 13th Amendment in Dec. 1865. It won't be 150 years until 2015. This reporter can't even count correctly. And why is anyone keeping track of this anyway? Doesn't the country have anything better to do? It's ancient history....get over it.....

"The local NAACP also used Jubilee Day to call for a cease in on the streets, especially black on black crime." I suppose races that are "Not" black are less important when it comes to violence.... Im really sick of all the black/white crap! This all needs to end, slavery IS gone, Blacks have More rights then whites in many cases same as hispanic, asian etc. Managers are Forced to hire a balance of everyone even when it comes down to a better candidate and that better one could be hispanic, white or black but to keep you trouble makers quiet its got to be diversified . Im white yes, No im not racists even tho 2 black boys brutally murdered my aunt many years ago im still not, ur darker/im lighter who cares just stop the crap and let all become Americans!
