RINGGOLD, Georgia(WDEF) - A Ringgold man is facing multiple felonies after authorities say he committed horrific sexual crimes on a 6-year old boy.

Cody Harris, 19, is facing criminal charges that include: child molestation, attempted aggravated sodomy and child enticement.

He was arrested on Monday but not without incident. When Catoosa County deputies kicked down his door, Harrison reportedly allowed his dog to go after them. Deputies were forced to shoot and kill the dog.

The child's mother said she and the boys father are divorced and have split custody. The alleged sex crimes happened when the boy would visit his father. According to reports, every time the boy went to stay with his father, he was allowed to play with other kids in the neighborhood. And it was while the boy was supposedly out playing when he was approached by Harris.

Harris is accused of enticing the boy by showing him porn on numerous occasions. But that's not all the victim told both police and his parents.

"He told us That Cody had tried to put his weenie inside his bottom. And had stuck a stick up his bottom," said the boys mother.

According to both the the complaint affidavit and the victims mother, the emotional damage was so severe that the 6-year old reportedly tried to hang himself because he was embarrassed. But there was also reported physical damage.

"He would hold his bowel movements and not go to the bathroom for days until he couldn't hold it anymore and he would say mommy please sit with me. It hurts so bad," the mother said.

The illegal sex acts reportedly happened at an apartment on Anderson Road.

"My son has told me that Cody would molest him and then have sex with this girl in front of my son and make him fondle her while he watched. And then when he was finished, he would try to make my 6-year old son have sex with a 17-year old girl," said the mother.

Several neighbors were not surprised that Harris would be in trouble with the law. But they were shocked by the nature of these allegations.

"It's unbelievable. I can't fathom how the parents feel," said Joshua Palmer who is a nearby neighbor.

For the mom, it's her worst nightmare coming true. For the little boy, recovery is day-to-day.

"He has good days and bad days. There will be certain things that will trigger memories and he will just go into fits of rage." she said

The mom is also happy to know the man who allegedly caused her son so much pain is off the streets.

"I praise god and praise god that he is off the streets but the one who did this with him needs to be off the street to."

She was referring to the 17-year girl who allegedly took part in the crime. WDEF spoke to a neighbor who has been in contact with the girl. The neighbor said the girl denied taking part in the act.

The case is far from over and charges against the girl could be looming.

As for the victim's mother, she said this should be a wake up call for all parents.

"I don't care how safe or how good you think your neighborhood is, you do not turn your child loose in the neighborhood."
