DALTON, GA, (WDEF),After 19 years of marriage Clint and Thelma Alderman are no longer living under the same roof.
A ruling by Judge Sheri Blevins gave guardianship to the Alderman's only daughter and stated Thelma needs to be in a nursing home.
However other family members are upset that her husband Clint did not have a say in her fate.
Stepson Marty Atkin,"His wife was just taken from him, of 19 years marriage, he never was asked or considered what he wanted for his wife and he was never allowed in the court room, he had to sit outside".
Clint Alderman,"She took me out of the room told me to leave, I had to go out in the hall, I didn't get to go back in there"
Neighbors and family friends have come out in support of the couple.
"near you, you want to be with them at all times, when you can, spend all the time you can, it's just part of life, just like the marriage vow says, till death do you part, so you need to be together."
When asked about this case all Judge Blevins would say was this...
"Records are sealed by operation of Georgia Law" and refused to comment further.
The family says they will continue to protest outside Whitfield County Court House for as long as they feel it's needed.
