All Cell Phone 9-1-1 Service Has Been Restored in Hamilton County

(WDEF) Hamilton County Unified Emergency Communications Center reports that all E9-1-1 services for cellular phones are now functioning countywide. Emergency Communications was assisted by Verizon, AT&T, TCS and the TN Emergency Communications Board to restore the service.

It was determined that the failure was not with any Hamilton County E9-1-1 systems and an investigation is being conducted by the TN Emergency Communications Board to identify the cause of the failure.

The Hamilton County 9-1-1 Emergency Communications District employs more than 130 telecommunicators, answering an average of 1,700 calls daily – 625,000 annually. Telecommunicators also dispatch responders for all public safety response disciplines – law enforcement, fire and EMS – across 26 various agencies.Lookout Mountain, Soddy Daisy and UT-Chattanooga maintain standalone 9-1-1 call centers.
