Armed robbery 101; do not rob a business that you have done business at.
Evie West, with the Cleveland Police Department, says, "Yes, he did confess to that."
We are talking about Randall Lee McCracken.
Cleveland police say he walked into a BI-LO Pharmacy with a handgun in his waistband, and demanded prescription narcotics.
However, there was one big problem, for McCracken anyway, employees there recognized his face.
West adds, "I believe he had been there before to pick up prescriptions for friends and family and maybe even his own, but they had recognized him from that."
So, needless to say, police checked store records, and then compared them to prior arrest records, which as we found out, include a handful of charges including theft.
West says, "News spreads fast in Cleveland. People knew we were looking for him, and we had our local paper put information out as well."
And thanks to social media, police got a pretty good tip, McCraken's cell phone number.
They then tracked his phone all the way to a house outside the city limits.
West adds, "We don't put up with it. We don't want to have to put up with it. We want people to know in our city that we're going to take care of our business."
Even if that business is well, according to some residents, a little strange.
Tucker Ramsey, a resident, says, "That would be kind of stupid to rob somewhere where people have seen you before."
Matt Doneracki, another resident, adds, " I don't know, he wanted to get high."
McCracken is charged with aggravated robbery.
This marks the second pharmacy robbery, in Cleveland, in two months.
