Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) Friday marks National Bike to Work Day, and dozens of cyclists met at Miller Plaza in the morning for a get together with free breakfast.
The event featured booths by non-profit groups like Green Trips.
That's a federally funded pilot program designed to reduce traffic congestion and air pollution.
Organizers encourage people to bike, walk, take public transportation, and car pool.
Community Coordinator Heather Sivley for Green Trips Chattooga says, "If you wear your helmet, anytime today to a restaurant downtown, you can check our web site for the list, but wear your helmet and you'll get a ten percent discount. And that's done in partnership with the Chattanooga Area Brain Injury Association, to encourage helmet use."
