Some Chattanooga area Boy Scouts worked on a personal finance merit badge Monday night.
The Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union helped them reach their goal.
The Scouts learned all about responsible banking during Monday night's event.
Community Involvement Specialist Tammy Zumbrun has put on seminars like this in several area high schools.
Zumbrun said, "This is the first time we've partnered with the Boy Scouts.  They had actually called asking us if we'd like to sponsor the Boy Scouts and of course since we're not for profit, and it's our members' money we usually try to do things in the community that are going to benefit the credit union and the community."
Scout Casey Smith added, "We're just trying to get some merit badges in to get rank and all that.  We won't get all of it done but most of it will be done here."
The merit badge seminar was sponsored by the Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union.
