Bullying Addressed at Ooltewah Elementary School

A group of parents at Ooltewah Elementary School prompted a discussion today on bullying. They went to Principal Tom Arnold and requested a school resource officer come talk to the students on the issue. WDEF News 12's Alisha Searl takes us inside and shows us why today's talk was needed.

Bullying in school is believed to be a normal part of school life; however, when people begin to have this mentality, they forget that bullying is physically and psychologically harmful to both the bully and the victim. Therefore, bullying must be eradicated from schools by raising awareness and increasing supervision. This move by the Ooltewah Elementary School is one of the big steps that will lead the extinction of bullying in the world. Parents should also take part on this situation.
