CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF) - Flooding was a major concern Friday morning for at least one driver on 1-24 near Lookout Valley.

The driver of a white car drove straight into the flood waters.

The water almost comes up to the door handles and over the windshield.

Chattanooga Police were called, as well as TDOT.

TDOT put out orange cones in hopes of preventing other drivers from making the same mistake.

Brandon Pate, a passer-by, says, "It looks like somebody was trying to out smart the weather. The car is totally lost. Well, you could pull it out, but it's not driveable anymore if it's flooded like that."

Other vehicles in Chattanooga were damaged because of fallen trees, and down power lines caused just as much early morning chaos.
