Ringgold GA, (WDEF)- Catoosa County Commissioners this morning gave the green light to keep Hutcheson Medical Center open.
Jim Cutler, District 3 Commissioner,"Be able to continue to pay current bill and bills that may come up in the future".

They say that locals must remember that the 2.5 million dollars is a credit line.

Jim Cutler,"We are not borrowing the entire 2.5, again it is a line of credit."

Catoosa County Chairman Keith Greene says the simple reason for the hospitals problems is, debt.

"The large debt that was owed from overpayment from medicare to the hospital"

Ft Oglethorpe mechanic Tommy Back,"For us if we get hurt we can go right to the hospital so instead of driving across town, it be convenient for us, its good."

Chairman Keith Green added taxpayers will not be hit as they are looking for a lease partner to help the hospital move forward.

"Those payments we would receive from the hospital or from the leasee would be going towards covering debt and not put our taxpayers at risk for that debt"

Walker County are set to vote on the hospital later this evening.
