Catoosa County residents could be hit with higher property taxes this year, and Ringgold residents could get a double dose of tax hike.
Commissioners are considering a budget that includes about an 11% increase in taxes.
Ringgold officials are proposing around a 3% increase.
The county and the city will each hold two public hearings before voting on the increase, so nothing is set in stone yet.
"This is just a proposed budget that we will still be having work sessions with all the department heads and all the other elected officials in the county and talking to see if there is any more cuts that we might be able to do."
Ringgold and Catoosa County will each hold public hearings before voting.
