CHATTANOOGA, TN,(WDEF)-Moccasin bend Brewing company has not had any new recipes approved and cannot have any approved until the government reopens.
Chris Hunt, Owner,"There are a few new brands, a few seasonals that we can't put out right now as we are awaiting label approval basically"
The Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau shut down is leaving Chris with a federal hangover.
"Where you had a seasonal coming out then that would affect those seasonal sales as right now is the time for Octoberfest and pumpkin beers to come out"
Chattanooga Whiskey are not happy either.
Tim Piersant, VP,"It's affecting our growth so in order for us to be able to launch new products in the future it is pushing that back"
While some government run websites are completely closed, Piersant says Chattanooga Whiskey now receive generic emails.
"We get automatic responses saying that they are unavailable"
Chattanooga Brewery Tours say that their trade hasn't been affected at all but they are concerned for what could happen down the road if more and more lines, labels and beers get shelved.
With 45 original recipes Moccasin Bend Brewery say that young breweries could be greatly affected by the shutdown.
