CHATTANOOGA, TN, (WDEF)-Over a dozen activists gathered at Miller Park Today to sign a letter saying a Syrian invasion will "Not Be In My Name".
Fr Brian Merritt, "but really it is an act of war, there not going to get an invasion, we are just going to be dropping thousands of tons of bombs into populated areas and military which really has a consequence that we have not control over"
The campaigners signed a letter for Senator Corker hoping to change his mind.
Ash Lee Henderson,"Americans recognize that we have a lot more power than we give ourselves credit for when it comes to being diplomatic and there have to be peaceful resolutions in the way America intercedes if we intercede at all"
The group brought their letter to Senator Corkers office just before 4pm after initially being denied entry ,gathered media were told to wait outside.
Some Activists say they now need answers.
Iraq War Veteran Maggie Martin,"We need to have this conversation, we need to know that we are being heard when we stand here as constituents and say not in our name, don't portray military violence in our name"
All members are actively using Facebook and social media to mobilize their team and say more Chattanoogans need to join their campaign.
