Chattanooga Firefighters Use Thermal Imaging Camera After Ashley Forest Lane Dryer Fire

Chattanooga Firefighters responded to a house fire at 744 Ashley Forest Lane at 12:32 p.m. Friday.

Quint 19 and three fire companies responded to find a fire in the laundry area of the house. The homeowner advised they had last used a dryer late yesterday.

The fire was contained to the laundry area, but there was smoke damage through much of the house. The fire was extinguished using a 1 and ¾ inch hand line.

Thermal imaging cameras were used to ensure the fire had not extended into the walls and ceiling. The smoke was removed with a ventilation fans. The house was checked to make sure there was no carbon monoxide and released to the property owner.

There were no injuries reported. Captain Jody Houstrup estimated the damage at $15,000.
