Chattanooga Police address this months NAACP meeting.

Police Chief Bobby Dodd answered questions from citizens, most having to deal with gangs.
Residents had full access to Dodd and other chiefs and captains to voice concerns about issues in their neighborhoods
Many people feel children don't respect their elders, which is leading to the gang problem.
However, Dodd says the problem is deeper.
"That is a problem but it's not the problem. Cause a lot of these kids don't have an elder to respect and they ones they do have in their lives they can't respect because of the drugs, the fighting the gang stuff," says Chief Dodd.
Dodd says the department made over 12-thousand arrests last year.
That's with about 4-hundred-40 officers.
