If you saw a sea of pink Sunday in Chattanooga, the chances are you were not alone.
Hundreds came out to UTC to take part in a very special event, The Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure.
It is a cause that's near and dear to our hearts at News 12 because several people who work here are affected by breast cancer.
We had a team today, and we also caught up with another team who is walking for a woman who recently lost her battle with cancer.
Susan Jackson, a 3-Year Cancer Survivor, says, "I got started with this with Penny Pealman and now she's not here anymore, but I feel her presence. If you love somebody, you make sure they've had a mammogram."
75 percent of your donations will stay right here in the Chattanooga and the North Georgia area.
They will fund mammograms, breast cancer treatment, and health education materials.
That other 25 percent will go towards finding a cure.
Now, the grand total raised for today was more than $152,000.
