CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee -(WDEF) A Chattanooga family was left homeless after an early morning blaze ripped through their home.

It happened on the 1700 block of Rubio St. around 4am on Sunday.

Fire investigators say a woman woke up to the smell of smoke then quickly alerted her boyfriend and cousin to get everyone else out the house. When she realized her three children were still inside, she ran back in and saved them.

Damages are estimated at $30,000.

The American Red Cross is providing assistance to the family.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
