Chattanooga police officer shoots suspect

CHATTANOOGA, Tennessee(WDEF) -  A Chattanooga police officer is on administrative leave following an early morning shooting that sent a suspect to the hospital.

It happened on the 100 block of Elmwood Drive.

Police say Lebron Brown, 24, of Chattanooga tried to run over an officer with a car but the officer managed to shot Brown in the arm.

Brown drove himself to the hospital where he was later arrested and charged with attempted 1st degree murder and aggravated assault.

The officer was placed on administrative leave while internal affairs investigates the matter.
