We continue our previews of the upcoming Chattanooga elections with District two of the city council.
Three candidates are competing to replace Sally Robinson on the council.
They are Jerry Mitchell, Priscilla Simmons and Roger Tuder.
We asked them what their priorities would be if elected.

JERRY MITCHELL "I think the most important thing is to engage the public. I think we need to re-ignite the passion of the citizens in Chattanooga..to help us make decisions on city council. I think their input will be very, very important ...To tell us what we need to be doing."

PRISCILLA SIMMONS "I want to cut wasteful spending..so that we can redirect those funds..to put more police officers out on the street and create youth programs to target children that normally would go into gangs. I know city government, I know to cut costs and I pledge to be an advocate for the taxpayer."

ROGER TUDOR "I want to get back to the essential needs..back to the citizens of district 2. And what that means is, we need to look at our budgetary items and get those real essential items..our streets back out there, our trash pickup on the streets back out there, and give those citizens the product and service they deserve from the city of Chattanooga."

The municipal election will be held on March 5th. Early voting is already underway.
