We continue with our series of reports with candidates for Chattanooga city council, district 7.
There are four names on the ballot, but only three of them responded to our request for comments.
They are challengers Chris Anderson, challenger Karl D. Epperson, and incumbent Manny Rico.
We asked them their number one issue if they were to win that office.
CHRIS ANDERSON "The first thing I really want to do is add a bus line from downtown to Enterprise South..to really spur job creation and job growth for the downtown residents. The second thing..a close second is solving the public safety issue by putting more resources in public safety."
KARL D. EPPERSON "The inclusionary zoning ordinance that the westside community association presented to the city council. That's my number one priority...affordable housing for the citizens of Chattanooga."
MANNY RICO "Clean up the neighborhoods by trying to demolish the old homes that are boarded up...and a lot of people are using them for crack homes..and prostitution and ..And also to fight the gang problems in the neighborhoods."
On Wednesday, we'll meet the District one candidates for city council.
