COLLEGEDALE, TN, (WDEF)-For one Collegedale resident who would like to remain anonymous shooting high powered guns in a  residential area has to stop.

"Over a period of about three years I can think of at least four or five incidents that's happened back there and each time the police were informed of it and we just don't think anything has been done about it"

He feels there are too many families around and stray bullets are an unnecessary hazard.

"The children, elderly folk that's in the surrounding area of that trailer park"

Detective Kat Cooper says anyone with information should come forward especially if it was not a malicious attack.

"It's understandable if this was an accident or what not, for that individual should come forward and do the right thing as opposed to more time passing weeks and months and for us to actually find this individual"

She has these words for advice for Collegedale gun owners.

"Make sure that anyone in this community  who does have firearms or high powered rifles or what not to check on those, to make sure they are still in the same location that you left, or any kids that close to them"

The woman did not suffer life threatening injuries and was discharged over the weekend.

The trailer park owner of nearly 30 years says that he is doing all he can to help and says that this shooting is a first for his business.

Victor Mendoca, "Wasn't bad, but what can I do? I can't hold it down, this happened and people sometimes crazy you know"

If you or anyone you know was near Tallant road on Saturday afternoon between 1 and 2pm Collegedale police say they need your help, Detective Cooper at 423 242-8466.
