A local church partners with a community choir to celebrate Black History Month.
The Sounds of Destiny held their second annual Black History Celebration at Metropolitan Tabernacle, Sunday night.
The night was also a tribute to the Queen of Gospel Music: Mahalia Jackson.
Sounds of Destiny is made up of different people with varying backgrounds throughout the Chattanooga-area. Church leaders say the concert is a way to learn about all cultures and then
“I need to know your story, and you need to know mine,” said Pastor Dr. Steve Ball. “And when you have that common ground then you begin to celebrate and see where someone came from. Then you can understand who they are and what their life is all about.”
