The Chattanooga Departure of Arts and Culture celebrated the grand re-opening of the Community Theatre at the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Thursday morning.

City officials, veterans and the Soldiers and Sailors steering committee attended the event. The downtowns revitalization focused on the installation of veteran's information kiosks. Admiral Vance Fry, Co-Chair Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Auditorium Steering Committee said, "They are for all services, all veterans to put in their photo, service record. They can do it online at home on their computer, and they or anybody else can, on the touch screens, can type in the name and their picture and service records will all of a sudden appear on the 46 inch monitor."

The events marked the culmination of a three year campaign to the build support and momentum to complete the renovations and ADA compliance of the smaller venue on the third floor of the Auditorium building. Updates included new seating, a chairlift, an elevator, and ADA compliant access areas and restrooms.
