Sci Fi fans flock to the Chattanooga Choo Choo this weekend for Con Nooga!
More than 1,000 people are expected for the annual event.
WDEF News 12's Mandy Odom has a preview for us in this local perspective.
Whether you're a Star Wars or a Harry Potter fan, Con Nooga has something for you.
Program Director Jeff Hickey says, "There's anime, costuming, horror, science-fiction, fantasy, comics, gaming."
Con Nooga will have many panels, bands, collector memorabilia, a fashion show, and much more.
The Con Kids track and Anime guest this year is Debi Derryberry; who's the voice of Jimmy Neutron.
Carie Varner has a booth here, but says it's good fun for her whole family.
She says, "As an artist I think that that type of thing is really important and my husband and I are both kind of nerdy and so we really enjoy that kind of stuff and we really want her to enjoy it to."
It's expected to bring in more than $400,000 to the local economy.
But mainly it's just a good time for everyone.
Shannon Block says, "It's fun to not have to be yourself for a weekend." David Cooper says, "I've just worked, I don't know like eight days in a row, so it's a great way to unwind."
Hickey says, "If you come once I believe you want to come back."
