Chattanooga, TN (WDEF) Just in time law enforcement expands the Crash Reduction Initiative for this holiday weekend.

Several agencies signed on to help keep dangerous drivers off the road.

Chattanooga Police, Hamilton County deputies, Tennessee Highway Patrol, East Ridge, Red Bank and Collegedale Police all take part.

Chattanooga Police have a stern message for drivers.
Robert Starnes with CPD says, "We want everybody to drive safe. We want them to enjoy the holiday weekend, but if they drink and drive and don't appoint a designated driver, we'll appoint one for them."

The goal is to decrease the number of accidents and fatalities during the high-traffic holiday weekend with a strong presence out on the roadways.
