A Dade County homeowner is recovering from a gunshot wound this afternoon.
Dade County Sheriff Patrick Cannon says the man came home to his house in the Slygo area and stopped to check his mail.
That's when he surprised a man inside his home robbing it.
The Sheriff's office says the homeowner was shot in the side.
We're told his injuries are not life threatening.
Officials say the suspect ran off into the woods.
Two K-9 units and a Georgia Bureau of Investigations helicopter are involved in the search.
Authorities say it's possible the suspect might have made his way out of the woods and gotten picked up by someone.
