Just after 3am this morning fire fighters rescued ten people including five children from a blaze on east 32nd street.

The Red Cross have been helping all who were affected.

While the fire dept are still investigating the cause of the fire they feel the lack of batteries in any fire alarm found in the home could have contributed to the blaze.

After Firefighters contained the blaze to one room in the house they were able to rescue the family pets, two cats and three dogs while another cat perished in the fire.
