CHICKAMAUGA, GA (WDEF-TV) A 75-year-old woman was found murdered inside her home.

Joyce Fowler died from blunt force trauma to the head according to Walker County Sheriff Steve Wilson.

It started when neighbors said they had not heard from Fowler and all her lights were cut off which was very unusual. Fowler lives alone and afraid at night according to some neighbors.

They called for help and that was when her body was found in her bedroom.

After a night of investigation, police took a suspect into custody.

"Her Grandson, who was seen at the home early Saturday Morning, which is consistent with the estimated time of her death, was arrested on an unrelated charge of parole violation,” said Sheriff Steve Wilson.

Joshua Fowler is the only suspect right now, but he has not been charged.

The Georgia Bureau of Investigation is processing Joshua's car for additional evidence.

Joshua was released from prison last October and was frequently seen at his Grandmother's home.
