Every Available State Trooper in Chattanooga Works this Holiday

CHATTANOOGA, TN (WDEF)- The Tennessee Highway Patrol plans to hold its largest safety and enforcement campaign in more than two decades.

Starting Wednesday, you can expect to see a state trooper every ten to twenty miles on the interstate in the Chattanooga area.

The THP is also partnering with the Tennessee Department of Transportation to light up 35 message boards.

You'll see familiar messages on them like buckle up and don't drink and drive.

Lieutenant John Harmon with the THP, says, "

Every available trooper will be working this holiday week.We want the message to come first and foremost this holiday weekend. We want everyone to arrive with their families safe. Arrive alive."

Officials tell us the Tennessee Highway Patrol - Chattanooga District leads the state in reducing fatalities.
