A fire early Thursday morning in Cleveland destroys a manufacturing facility.

What used to be Polymer Components on 20th Street Southeast now lies unrecognizeable. Emergency crews responded to the blaze around 12:30am Thursday morning. It took Cleveland Fire Department several hours to get the blaze under control. Gil Frederick, Cleveland Fire Department said, "Suppression operations were hampered due to the lack of water supply. There is a hydrant right here at the entrance, but it is the only main that runs in this area that's accessible to us."

The 28-thousand square foot building and everything inside is considered a total loss. Frederick said, "We noticed some areas where there was a lot of debris that had fallen down on top of itself, and its difficult to get water down in those areas. We call those hot spots. It requires additional man power." Pieces of the rubber and polyurethane products facility ended up all over the yard and home that resides within feet of the business walls. WDEF spoke to the brother-in-law of the homeowner, and he thought the house would have been wiped out. Bill Woody, Brother-in-law of Homeowner said, "It's a absolute miracle, by God's will the house didn't burn because it's so close. I looked all around the house and there's some damage done but the house, didn't burn and that's an absolute miracle."

More than two dozen people will be out of work. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
